I so wish I could sit down and have coffee with you (Grande soy no water chai tea latte please…yum!)—to get to know you. Perhaps one day we will, but until then, here’s a little about myself.

I am in my mid-twenties, married and a mother to our sweet yellow lab Aslan. (Actually, maybe a better descriptive word for him is “active”. He certainly keeps me on my toes!) I am married to the most wonderful, handsome man who passionately loves Jesus and reflects His grace to me daily. We were married on October 14, 2012—still in the honeymoon stage and certainly a “rookie wife”. Each day gets better and better. I can’t believe the Lord blessed Jeff into my life—that I get to spend the rest of my life with him as we are being sharpened and transformed to be more like Jesus. He is my best friend and the love of my life.

The one and only Lover of my Soul, Jesus, won my heart when I was 15 years old. I had asked him to be my “forever friend” when I was 7 years old at Vacation Bible School—I still vividly remember the flannel board. (Anyone with me!?) However, I didn’t fully understand my desperate need for a Savior, and the abundant love and grace He gives until the summer before high school. It was then that I understood how Jesus wants a relationship with us—He wants all of us—and that following Jesus is way better than trying to do things my way. He is after our joy, and in Him there is true hope and life.

Since then, life has been quite an adventure! From traveling the world, to going to college in sunny California, studying abroad in Israel, interning at a church in Maui (clearly I am a lover of the sun!), and marrying my best friend.  It hasn’t been all roses and rainbows; there have been hardships and deep valleys along the way. However, my God is faithful. He has never left my side, and all things truly have been for my good, so I can be made more like Jesus (Romans 8:28-29) & know Him more intimately.

[thumbnail-6] Thank you for stopping by today! My hope and prayer is that you will be uplifted, encouraged, and challenged by this site as we grow together. I’m a sinner, pursued and saved by my incredible Lord who is all-powerful, all wise and all good. May you be encouraged today, and reminded of Jesus’ great love for you right now, and may you find rest in Him.

Love,

Lyss
