Bio

Gene McDonald's roots in gospel music run deep. He began traveling throughout the Midwest as a child singing with his family from Kennett, MO. At that time, Gene sang the high tenor part. He performed with the family group from 1969 - 1980.

In high school, Gene was given the opportunity to sing with Jack Campbell & The Ambassadors (writer of “I Know A Man Who Can” made popular by The Cathedrals) and during college he attended Ben Speer's Stamp Baxter School of Music. It was during that time that Gene joined the Plainsmen Quartet. Later Gene had the honor to spend 9 years with The Florida Boys.

Gene currently travels with the Gaither Homecoming Tour and performs as a soloist when his schedule permits.

Gene presently makes his home in Gallatin, TN with his wife Teri and son, Nathan Taft McDonald.
