Bio

Michael Sanchez was a contestant on Season 11 of The Voice. His blind audition of the Bill Withers song "Use Me" turned Alicia's chair at the very last second, automatically becoming her 8th artist on the team.

He developed a strong bond with fellow Team Alicia member Dave Moisan, of whom he was paired with in the Battle Rounds. Their battle, of which they performed the Amy Winehouse song "Valerie", became a favorite of the season for its change of formula by having both musicians cycle playing a piano and its use of falsetto, ultimately creating a lighthearted, fun battle as a result. Ultimately, Michael would be deemed the winner and moved on to The Knockouts, while Dave would be stolen by coach Adam Levine.

He was paired with Sa'Rayah in The Knockouts. Fighting for a position in the Live Playoffs, he performed a powerful rendition of the Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Withers song "Just The Two Of Us", while playing on the piano. While he was praised for his vocals, the inclusion of the piano provided him with little stage presence, something Sa'Rayah strongly demonstrated all-throughout her performance. Ultimately, Alicia would choose Sa'Rayah as the winner, eliminating Michael from the competition.

Before The Voice: "Michael suffered from a speech impediment as a child, so focused on the piano instead of vocals. He continued to play piano through high school, becoming known as the "piano man" for school talent shows and gaining the respect of his peers. By 18, music had helped Michael find his identity and his speech issues had subsided. Currently, Michael is a musician and pianist, gigging six to seven nights a week. In college, Michael met his wife Maria, and in 2014 they welcomed their son, Noah. Since then Michael's ultimate goal in life has been to create a better life for Noah."
