Bio

Ryan O'Quinn was born in the small, coal-mining town of Grundy, Virginia. The self-proclaimed class clown began acting with the town's only regional theatre, The New Mountain Players. He continued acting throughout high school and at age 17 won the Virginia State Humorous-Dramatic Competition.

O'Quinn turned down theatre scholarships to attend The College of William and Mary in Virginia and was a member of the famed I.T. (Improvisational Theatre) troupe at William and Mary. Some entertainment industry grads include Jon Stewart, Glenn Close, Bill Lawrence and Patton Oswalt. Some lesser-known alums include George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, John Tyler and various president-types....


Shortly after moving to Los Angeles Ryan booked a number of television shows and feature films including memorable roles in "Beverly Hills 90210", "Alias" , "JAG", "ER", "Third Rock from the Sun" and features such as "Starship Troopers" and "That Thing You Do" directed by Tom Hanks.

His ability to mimic accents and regionalisms led him into the arena of voice acting and voice matching. His first voice acting job was "Vacuums" with Chevy Chase, followed by "National Lampoon's Holiday Reunion", Sergeant Ash in the animated series "Trouble at Checkpoint 4" and Sam Ronaldson in the animated film "Bushwhacked".  Since then he has provided voice over for dozens of features including "Shallow Hal", "The Onion Movie" and Strange Wilderness" with Adam Sandler.

Ryan has voice matched a number of actors as diverse as Jack Black, Billy Bob Thornton and Robert Carlyle. He recently voiced two animated films, an animated television series and continues to provide ADR voice acting to a number of TV shows and feature films. You can also currently "play" Ryan. He is a character in the "NBA" video game series from Sony Computer Entertainment America.

Currently O'Quinn performs regularly at the famed ImprovOlympic in Hollywood, CA that boasts alumni such as Tina Fey, Ratchel Dratch, Jason Sudeikis, Neil Flynn, Adam McKay, Dave Koechner & more.

O'Quinn's improv-comedy background aided his venture into the arena of online videos. Television and radio stations around the world have featured his characters on their websites and broadcasts. Ryan's comedy shorts were recently featured on "Good Morning America", "Inside Edition", Bravo TV's "Outrageous & Contagious Viral Videos", the CW's "Online Nation" and was recently named YouTube Star of the Moment and YouTube Star of the Month by G4 network. Since 2006 Ryan and his production team, Very Angry Neighbors, have reached millions through internet and television distribution and have earned honors from various web portals such as YouTube including Most Viewed, Top Rated, Most Discussed, Top Favorites, Most Linked and #1 Comedy.

O'Quinn is also known in the Christian comedy and speaking circles for creating the popular improv/sketch comedy duo Team WordPlay. Ryan travels regularly as a clean comedian and speaks to tens of thousands each year at festivals, comedy venues and churches across America.

He also works as a freelance writer and journalist and is a regular contributor to various magazines and publications. Ryan lives in Los Angeles with his wife, photographer Heather O'Quinn, their daughters Lilah and Haley and son Asher.
